Hey Firebrand, the 70’s called - they want their vibes back!

Now granted, this branding isn’t particularly new, but even though it’s two and a half years old, it’s weathering very well.

Firebrand was started by Joe Thompson 10 years ago and this rebrand was undertaken by Kingdom & Sparrow and launched back in 2020 when the brewery wanted to reposition themsleves from microbrewery to regional player.

The brand itself is a definitive nod the history of the farm-based brewery and its Cornish roots with a fire-breathing Cornish Chough framed within the milking parlour where the brewery was founded all rendered in a bold, almost modernist style. From it’s base red and black version it adapts to each beer style’s own colour palette allowing for a consistent but versatile look.

The body of the labels are given over to some seriously retro style geometric patterns, evocative of the surfing and outdoor culture of the 70’s. It’s not difficult to picture some of those patterns on the base of a surfboard is it? Again, each pattern, like the logo is unique to the beer style allowing for ease of individual recognition but still sitting together as a clear family of beers. It’s overall a really laid back look - perfect for the kind of environments you’d likely see it.

It’s a refreshing alternative for a Cornish brewery - one that doesn’t rely on well worn clichés to convey it’s origins.

Thanks to Firebrand / Kingdom & Sparrow for the image reproduction.
